PROPERTIES AND BENEFITS

Tarragon is a spice derived from the Artemisia dracunculus plant. It has digestive and purifying properties and is a natural antiseptic. Tarragon can also be useful in cases of menstrual cramps, arthritis, rheumatoid pain, and against sore throats and inflammation of the oral cavity, such as toothaches.

USAGE AND PRACTICAL ADVICE

Environmental diffusion : pour 1 drop of essential oil per square meter of space; use in an essential oil burner or in the water of radiator humidifiers. Helps keep insects away and purifies the air.

Gargling solution : dilute 6 drops in a glass of room temperature water to help with mouth inflammation, sore throat, and toothache.

Massage lotion : To combat menstrual cramps and digestive problems, it is helpful to massage the abdominal area with 2 drops combined with a tablespoon of sweet almond oil.

Contraindications

For external use only. Tarragon can easily cause allergic reactions in individuals sensitive to herbs and flowers belonging to the Asteraceae family, and in particular to members of this family such as chrysanthemums, marigolds, daisies, tansy, and many others. Avoid using this essential oil if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and in children under 5 years of age.
